My friend, you mean so much to me

And you’re never far away,

For when I’m down and feeling blue

You’re here to brighten my day.

When my day is dark with stormy skies

I look at you and within your eyes,

I see the sunshine peeking through.

It’s wonderful to have a friend like you.

You lift my spirits when I am down

You smile at me and remove my frown.

And when you clasp my hand and say

“My, isn’t this a beautiful day?”

You change my day from dark to light

By having an outlook cheery and bright.

I know then what they say is true,

A friend is always there for you.
